Write the post here, select the words, click B, copy and paste into X. X has no bold button for posts, so the bold comes from Unicode letters.

Free X (Twitter) text formatter
X posts take plain text only, so this tool writes bold and italic in Unicode letters, and counts them the way X does: 2 characters each.

How X (Twitter) text formatting works
Styled letters count double
X's counting rules give 1 to plain Latin letters and 2 to everything outside that range, styled letters included. A fully bold post fits about 140 letters.
Bold the hook, keep the rest plain
With every styled letter costing 2, a bold first line is the efficient use. The counter under the box shows the cost as you style.
Display names too
Styled letters also show in an X display name, but search for the account by name then fails for anyone typing plain letters.
Example: “Big news” = 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀: 15 of X's 280 characters, against 8 in plain letters
Checked on October 11, 2026, against X (Twitter)'s rules and limits.

Questions
X (Twitter) text formatting, answered
Yes. X counts each styled letter as 2 characters, so "Big news" in bold takes 15 of the 280 instead of 8. The counter here uses X's own rule.
Yes, it displays. But people searching for your name in plain letters may not find the account, so keep at least the main word plain.
You can, but nobody will find it: a styled hashtag is a different word. Keep hashtags plain.
It can be. Some screen readers skip styled letters, others spell each one out. Style a few words, never a whole post, and never your name or a link.
