threads, in lowercase, the source Mydrop's campaigns write. Always add utm_medium=social: GA4 does not list threads as a social site.

Threads links are clickable in posts and in the bio: tag them here, with utm_medium=social, so GA4 counts Threads as social traffic.

Your tagged links
GA4: Organic SocialPaste a link to see it tagged for each network.
Let every link tag itself
Mydrop adds your UTM tags to every link in a caption while a campaign runs, and can shorten the link to count clicks.
Your links stay in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.
How to tag Threads links
Up to 5 links per post
A Threads post can hold up to 5 links, and the first becomes the preview card. Tag each one, with its own utm_content if they go to different pages.
Bio: up to 5 links
The Threads profile holds up to 5 links. Tag each one so GA4 shows which brings visits.
GA4 needs utm_medium=social
threads is not on GA4's list of social sites. Without utm_medium=social, Threads visits land in Unassigned or Referral instead of Organic Social.
Example: A Threads post linking to a new article = https://example.com/article?utm_source=threads&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=october-blog
Link rules checked on October 11, 2026, against Meta's Threads docs.
Reference
Where links work on Threads, and how to tag them
Every place a link can sit on Threads, whether people can tap it, and the tag to give it.
| Where the link sits | Clickable? | Tag to add |
|---|---|---|
| Post text (up to 5 links) | Clickable; the first becomes the preview | utm_medium=social |
| Replies | Clickable | utm_content=reply |
| Bio links (up to 5) | Clickable | utm_content=bio |
Because GA4 does not know threads as a social site, an untagged Threads click often shows as Referral from threads.net. Tag every link you share there.
