Yes. Google asks for a link to a real page of the business, with no shortener; a tagged link to your own site meets that. Use utm_content=website.

Your tagged links
GA4: Organic SocialPaste a link to see it tagged for each network.
Let every link tag itself
Mydrop adds your UTM tags to every link in a caption while a campaign runs, and can shorten the link to count clicks.
Your links stay in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.
How to tag Google Business Profile links
Update buttons take a link
Updates, events and offers can carry a button (Book, Order, Shop, Learn more, Sign up) with its own URL. Tag each with the update in utm_content.
The website field has rules
Google asks for a real page of the business: no link shorteners, no social pages, one link per domain. A tagged link to your own site is fine.
Search or social, pick one
GA4 knows google as a search engine, not as a profile. Tag with utm_medium=social to group profile visits with social, or keep your own medium and read them by campaign.
Example: The "Learn more" button on an offer update = https://example.com/offer?utm_source=google-business&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=autumn-offer&utm_content=offer-button
Link rules checked on October 11, 2026, against Google Business Profile Help.

Where links work on Google Business Profile, and how to tag them
Every place a link can sit on a profile, whether people can click it, and the tag to give it.
| Where the link sits | Clickable? | Tag to add |
|---|---|---|
| Website field | Clickable | utm_content=website |
| Update button (Book, Order, Shop, Learn more, Sign up) | Clickable | utm_content=update-name |
| Call button | No URL | Count calls in Performance |
| Business description | Links not allowed | Leave untagged text |
The business description cannot contain links, and Call buttons have no URL. Track calls with the Performance tab instead.

Add a button (Learn more, Book, Order, Shop or Sign up) to the update and paste a tagged link as its URL, with the update's name in utm_content.
A name GA4 will not confuse with Google Search, such as google-business. Mydrop's campaigns write googleMyBusiness for it; pick one spelling for every location.
Because untagged clicks from the profile arrive from google, which GA4 files as search. Tag the links and they report under your own source and campaign.
