Let every link tag itself
Mydrop adds your UTM tags to every link in a caption while a campaign runs, and can shorten the link to count clicks.
Your links stay in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.
How to tag Pinterest links
One link per Pin
Each Pin has a single destination link, and it is what an outbound click opens. Tag it before you publish; changing it later splits the data.
Tag the Pin, not just Pinterest
Pins live for months. Put the Pin's topic in utm_content, such as utm_content=spring-recipes, so GA4 shows which Pins keep sending visits.
GA4 knows Pinterest
pinterest is on GA4's list of social sites, with its country domains: tagged visits land in Organic Social with utm_medium=social.
Example: A recipe Pin linking to the recipe page = https://example.com/recipe?utm_source=pinterest&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=spring-recipes&utm_content=pin-1
Link rules checked on October 11, 2026, against Pinterest's help and GA4's source list.

Where links work on Pinterest, and how to tag them
Every place a link can sit on Pinterest, whether people can click it, and the tag to give it.
| Where the link sits | Clickable? | Tag to add |
|---|---|---|
| Pin destination link | Clickable (outbound click) | utm_content=pin-topic |
| Profile website | Clickable | utm_content=profile |
| Ads (Promoted Pins) | Clickable | utm_medium=paid-social |
Pinterest Analytics counts outbound clicks on its side. GA4 counts the visits that arrive; the two never match exactly, so report both.
