2:3 is the Pin shape
Pinterest recommends 1000 × 1500 Pins. Add a 2:3 image to see the tall slot it takes; taller Pins may be cut off.
The description sells the click
Pinterest takes 800 characters through its API (500 in its own editor). Lead with what the visitor gets on the other side of the link.
Carousels: 2 to 5 images
Add several images to see a carousel Pin. Keep them the same size so the swipe stays smooth.
Example: “A 1000 × 1500 Pin with a 200-character description” = a full-height Pin with the description under it
